It is evident that the iPhone success does not allow other mobile phone producers to live in peace. Nokia is among them.

According to Nokia, in the nearest future the “iPhone killers” line will be enriched with one new model from the famous Finnish company – Nokia N98. Regardless of the loud Nokia announcements that iPhone cannot be the rival of the N series smartphones, the company is in the process of preparing a reasonable answer to the “apple” bestseller. As it can be clearly seen by its design N98 resembles very much with the iPhone, but according to many technical features new smartphone from Nokia is even better than its rival.

Vodafone bringing BlackBerry Storm to India

‘Press and get impressed’- goes the BlackBerry Storm tagline and the latest smartphone from BlackBerry really got lots in its kitty to leave you impressed.

Leading telecom operator Vodafone Essar and Research in Motion, the Canadian maker of the BlackBerry family of smartphones, have jointly launched ‘Blackberry Storm’ in the Indian market.

Targeted at business and consumer markets, the newly launched device would be available in India from 15 January 2009.

“The BlackBerry Storm offers easy access to voice and email, a range of social media applications, multimedia content, satellite navigation and many other services on the move in a single device.”

The phone blends communications and multimedia functions, and features a clickable touch screen, multi-media features such as music, browsing, Sat Nav, Video and social network messaging.

The touch screen measures 3.25 inches with 480 x 360 resolution 184 ppi. With a 3.2-megapixel camera able to record video, the Storm outclasses the iPhone’s lens.

Vodafone is likely to offer ‘Storm’ for Rs 27,990.

And now doubt, the upgrade is proving to add efficiency to Gmail.

To enable the Gmail multi-pane viewing feature Gmail account users have to first activate Gmail Labs from their account, and then enable ‘Multiple Inboxes’ from the provided list of Labs option. Further, to set up the panes, Gmail account users have to go to Gmail settings menu and then select “Multiple Inboxes” (only after you have enabled them).

From there, Gmail account users can create up to five different panes. Not only this, Gmail account users can label each of their pane with a different code. This can be done manually by entering the desired code in the ‘label options’.

To make things interesting, HP revealed a new custom Ubuntu Linux user interface for their Mini 1000 Mi Edition netbooks.
